Job Description03
Manages and oversees international payroll operations for the organization’s workforce ensuring accurate and timely payments including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. In charge of FX currency conversion to facilitate accurate payments to employees in various countries. Partner with Treasury to process international funds transfers. Stay up to date with international labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements to ensure payroll compliance in each geography and/or jurisdiction is met. Development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of payments to contributors from different countries. Lead payroll services providers and stays abreast of mandatory changes/considerations – especially for the very complex Latin America Payroll jurisdictions – maintaining a strong partnership to guarantee service level standard and accuracy of the information filed with the local tax authorities. Uphold integrity of payroll data such as earnings, deductions, tax information, and employee records. Actively participate in internal and external payroll audits. Calculate and oversee international tax deductions, contributions, and withholdings. Generate comprehensive regular payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders. Leverage communication skills to effectively collaborate with international stakeholders fostering strong relationships. Must appear in office 3 days per week; WFH permissible 2 days per week.
Requirements04
Bachelor’s degree in finance, HR, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or an HR Systems and payroll processes related role. If unrelated degree, employer will accept one (1) additional year of work experience in the job offered or an HR Systems and payroll processes related role. Any suitable combination of education, experience, training is acceptable. Fluency in English and Spanish, and reading-writing comprehension of Portuguese.
Experience and/or education must include:
Understand complex taxes and contributions for Social Security calculations and monthly filing reports (Brazil);
Integration with government systems, connecting with government reporting platforms like eSocial (Brazil);
Utilize HCM systems to manage ADP and TMF vendors;
Experience with ERP for NetSuite;
Understanding of international payroll laws and regulations: Brazil Labor Law CLT, Mexico Labor Law LFT, for individual and collective labor relations, working conditions, salaries and wages, benefits and termination of employment, payroll taxes, deductions and contributions;
Analyzing and managing data with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
Understanding of Brazil Collective Bargaining annual agreements for yearly resolutions and their impact on wages, salaries, and employee’s eligibility;
Knowledge of currency fluctuation to optimize payroll forecast of costs and budget;
Understand Latin America social security systems, including registration of new employees and how to make their contributions;
Latin America Tax and compliance expertise (calculation, filling, making timely deposits of withheld taxes); and
Recordkeeping and reporting.
