What attracted you to tech investment and SoftBank?
During my time in private equity, I saw how technology was disrupting almost every sector — not just incrementally, but fundamentally. I wanted to be closer to that change, and move beyond optimizing legacy business models to building the companies that will define our future.
I was drawn to SoftBank by the opportunity to participate in market-defining investments at a truly global scale. Instead of following trends, SoftBank is catalyzing transformation itself. Masa’s willingness to back bold founders and visionary ideas puts SoftBank in a league of its own.

What’s most exciting about the sectors you’re investing in right now?
I’m focused on infrastructure and platform investments across semiconductors and foundational AI models and agents. We’re at the beginning of major shifts in all of these spaces and will likely see these technologies integrated into many more aspects of our lives over time. It’s exciting to play a part in realizing their potential to make a lasting impact, from increasing access to quality health care to reducing barriers to education and more.

What makes the SoftBank team unique?
SoftBank has a rare combination of low ego and high conviction. It’s uncommon to find a team that consistently brings deep intellectual rigor to challenging problems while staying humble and open to being wrong. Our team members’ diverse backgrounds, geographies, and perspectives go a long way toward enriching our work and anticipating challenges others might miss.

What can founders expect when working with you?
They can expect someone who is firmly on their team and committed to their success. I believe in candid, constructive conversations that push us forward together. That means offering steady support, but also having tough discussions when they’re needed.

How do you define success, and what values guide you in achieving it?
For me, professional success is about building a body of work that I am quietly proud of. It’s about contributing to companies, ecosystems, and society in a way that leaves things better than how I found them. I want to look back and feel I did meaningful work with good people. And I think key to this success is remaining curious. It’s easy to get caught up in very specific goals, but I’ve come to learn that some of the best opportunities come from staying open-minded and adaptable.
