How has your background prepared you for your current work?
When I first set out for a career in business, I had only been exposed to traditional corporate roles through my upbringing. However, an internship in college with a global investment firm opened up a completely new set of opportunities that really captured my imagination and passion. I've let my intellectual curiosity guide my career since then, by always keeping an eye out for unique opportunities and unlikely connections. While this has forced me out of my own comfort zone on a regular basis, I believe it has been key to the progression of my career and growth. The resulting successes and failures I’ve experienced have made me well equipped to empathize with and advise founders during their own journey.

How do you approach your work with founders?
I have a customer service mindset. I want to find the best ways to support the founders that we work with and ensure we are adding substantive value and guidance to the most mission-critical efforts in the company. One of the aspects I love most about my job is that we are able to act as enablers of their visions. It's about helping founders unlock opportunities and discover options that weren't immediately obvious or believed to be attainable.
What are your main focus areas?
I help lead our consumer technology and real estate efforts globally. Right now, one of the areas where I see a huge opportunity for innovation is in the travel industry, which hasn't really changed since online travel agencies emerged roughly 20 years ago. Now is the perfect moment to redesign the customer's relationship with travel and hospitality to make it far less transactional. Companies need to understand and support the customer's true motivations for traveling, which are their experiences while traveling and the memories associated with them. Technology is creating huge opportunities to facilitate this through personalization on a mass scale.
What’s the impact you hope to have?
We share our founders’ desire to bring positive experiences to people in their daily lives and throughout the course of their lives. Technology is giving us an unprecedented capacity to understand what individuals actually need and are seeking. This means that we can now deliver products and experiences that improve the lives of billions of people in a positive way and, through data and artificial intelligence, to do so in a very individualized and bespoke manner.
What would you be doing if you weren't working with the Vision Fund?
The truth is that I am currently doing what I love most professionally. If I wasn’t with the Vision Fund I would be focused on building a similar investing platform on my own. I'm so grateful to be part of this organization and for the opportunity it affords me to work with some of the most innovative and industry-shaping founders throughout the world.
